1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and what brought you to PayStream?
Having studied both AAT Accounting and Finance at College, followed by a Degree in Accounting and Finance at University a career in Accountancy was always going to be likely! I was introduced to PayStream through a friend of mine who had been working at PayStream for over a year. After my first couple of conversations and meetings with Laura, Vicky, Arif and Andrew, I knew PayStream was a place I could see myself working at for many years to come.
2. What is a typical day at PayStream like?
That’s a tough one to refine as each day is usually very different to the last! As an Accounts Assistant you act as the first point of contact for your client base, so you can face any number of queries from the straight forward to the quite complex. I usually start my day by responding to our clients email queries, before holding some introductory calls with our new clients and some tax planning calls with our existing clients. Each conversation can be very different to the last which makes the job very unique and interesting.
3. How does PayStream compare to your previous workplaces?
I’ve been very fortunate through my working life to work with some incredible companies, with a great culture and some great people. PayStream is much the same in that regard. It’s a place with good core values and really genuine people at the heart of it. It’s got a really good culture and a place I feel trusted to develop and grow in my career. It’s also very unique with its frequent “PlayStream” events and monthly office treats too!
4. What do you enjoy most about working at PayStream?
The most satisfying part of the role is seeing the impact you can have on the business and on our clients - PayStream empowers all of its colleagues to be able to share and implement ideas. As someone who likes to be constantly improving, it’s great to be surrounded by colleagues who share a similar goal.
5. What would people be surprised to learn about you?
I can do a headstand. Exciting, I know.
6. What are your favourite things to do outside of work?
Outside of work I enjoy a round of Golf with friends and family. We do also have a fairly competitive four ball in Accounts, that like to get out on the course after work and compete for the weekly bragging rights! Maybe this summer we’ll look to expand it to a PayStream Invitational and see who the Tiger Woods of PayStream is!
