As a significant local employer, we take the Environmental Social Governance seriously which is why we actively support our staff in community initiatives and fundraising activities for charitable causes.
Below, we highlight some of the fund-raising efforts of our staff members and their contributions to these important causes along with how we’ve supported several local clubs that hold a special meaning for some of our employees.
Manchester Foundation Trust
Manchester Foundation Trust is a charity that raises funds for NHS hospitals, clinical services and local care organisations. They do this by funding cutting edge equipment and supporting research projects.
In September, a few members of our HR team undertook a 170ft abseil down the side of the Hyatt Regency Hotel to support this incredible cause. Their efforts garnered £450 in donations from loved ones and colleagues, which PayStream matched - far surpassing their initial target of £350.
MacMillan Cancer Support
MacMillan Cancer Support is a charity that raises money for vital cancer services, provides care for people living with cancer, supports healthcare professionals and influences cancer related policies UK-wide.
Our staff organised a MacMillan coffee morning, where team members brought in an array of cakes and treats to sell. By day’s end, our wonderful staff had generated over £200, which PayStream generously matched.
Marie Curie Care
Marie Cure specialises in end-of-life care to help people who are likely to die from illness, as well as supporting their family and friends.
One of our staff members, Claire, our Payroll Expert participated in the Manchester Marathon to raise funds for the charity which was close to her heart. In the end Claire raised an impressive £1,595, with PayStream contributing £500. An amazing amount of money was raised for such a wonderful cause.
High Performance Foundation
The High Performance Foundation is a charity enabling young people to kick start a thriving future by developing their skills in combating failure, developing resilience and understanding how to be kind to themselves.
Two of our directors teamed up to raise funds by participating in the London Queen Elizabeth Park Half Marathon. With an additional £500 donation from PayStream, they raised an impressive total of £1,260. A great achievement from these two leading members of our team contribute to such an excellent cause.
Mind Charity
Mind provides support for individuals experiencing poor mental health through their helplines and crisis resources. One of our employees, Sam, a Legal Team Leader raised money for Mind by taking part in an organised Mixed Martial Arts competition in Manchester. With support from fellow PayStream staff members, friends and a £500 donation from PayStream he raised an amazing £1,154, well done to Sam!
Stretford Victoria Football Club under 11's
One of our employees, Andy, Operations Manager has a special connection to Stretford Victoria Football Club U11’s. The team recently transitioned from 7v7 to 9v9 and required a sponsor for new shirts. The players were thrilled with the kits, and their performance this season has been outstanding!
By the way, it’s great to see local clubs like Stretford Victoria Athletic thriving! If you’d like to learn more about their matches and progress, you can check out their Manchester Amateur Sunday Football League page.
Altrincham Kersall Rugby club
Jack our Customer Care Team Leader is actively involved with Altrincham Kersal Rugby Football Club.
Jack has been playing for the club for several years and recently reached out to inquire if we would be interested in sponsoring the team. The funds provided have been used to support various aspects of the club, including purchasing kits, covering transportation costs, acquiring equipment, and even subsidising fees for less fortunate team members.
It’s wonderful to see organisations like Altrincham Kersal RFC fostering community spirit and supporting local sports. If you’d like to learn more about their activities and achievements, you can visit their official website here.
